PSA: Be careful of scams!

I recently saw a post in one of the FB acting groups for a UGC role. They send you a product, then give you a script to promote the product that they can use in their marketing.

I messaged for more information. We went back and forth a bit. They wanted to know more about me as a person: what I've studied, my current job, my passion, my ambition, my family... all seems benign.

However, they then asked for my full name and DOB, saying that all slates start with name and DOB.

RED FLAG!!!!!!!!

I asked for links to a website, FB page, previous work, anything that proves they are legitimate. She kept insisting that they would be shared should I be selected and that they needed to authenticate me. ---------- Um, it's the other way around.

YOU should be authenticating that they are a legitimate company or that it's a legitimate project - ask them for links to their website, or at least previous work they've done. NEVER give out your DOB unless it's on a tax form and ESPECIALLY don't give out your DOB in a slate.
